Obituary
Cindy Green, 63, passed away on May 17th at a local hospital. A native of Valdosta, GA, she came to this area 40 years ago. She was a graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State College. Cindy was a retired school teacher. When not working, she enjoyed reading, the beach and politics in her free time. Cindy was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 28 years whom she has known for 33 years, Rick Van De Mark, her brother Blenus Green of Abilene, TX, step father Jack Williams of Valdosta, brother and sister in law, Steve and Pam Van De Mark, mother in law Sylvia Van De Mark and nieces, Zoe and Cassie.
I'll forever remember her asking me to show her how to use Facebook. What I thought would take 10 minutes went on for over an hour and one notebook full of notes. She never did quite take to it.
I'll miss her calling me Darlin' or Blessin' my Heart.
She was an amazing woman!
She had a way with keeping Rick's britches pressed. You could slice bread with them.
Heaven is a much better place with her there.
45th High school reunion
It is hard to believe that she has passed away so suddenly.
My sincerest condolences to you and your family.
Robin
Me and Green Bean dressed for our highschool reunion. I will miss out Saturday afternoon calls. Green Bean you are missed.
We had a close relationship over the years, but we were closer after the death of her mother 12 yrs. ago. This has been a very trying time for all
of us, but knowing she is no longer in pain and suffering that plagued her
for years, eases the pain of losing her. I am thankful for the close
relationship she had with my son and my family, and I know she felt the
love. Rest in peace, with much love and caring,
Sylvia (Mom)
On May 17th I not only lost my wife, I also lost my best friend. My world will now have a void that I will never be able to fill.
I would like everyone to know how much I owe her. She was my biggest fan and always helped me navigate love and life. She always was the balance that made my life happy and content.
Her love of cooking was only surpassed by her intellect and sense of humor were her best attributes. She loved to laugh and I loved to make her laugh. She told me that’s the thing she loved the most about me. I always kept her laughing.
She was always the best dressed girl in the room. Took so much pride in her appearance and helped coach me into what was appropriate for me to wear as well.
I love you Cindy and will miss you every day of my life. I am your biggest fan.
Love, Rick
