Obituary

Cindy Rae Hart, 74, passed away on October 2, 2025, in Dunnellon, Florida. Born on May 5, 1951, Cindy was known for her caring nature, great sense of humor, and generous spirit.

Throughout her career, Cindy dedicated herself to healthcare, working at Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart Career Center, and Heart City Health Center, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication.

Cindy was an active member of her community and a devout attendee at Faith United Methodist church in Goshen, IN, and Ocala West United Methodist church in Ocala, FL. Her faith and commitment to service were evident in every aspect of her life.

She graduated from Central High School. Cindy also received her Nurse Assistant training at Elkhart General Hospital where she carried forward the values of honesty, encouragement and her heart for caring for people.

Cindy’s hobbies included baking, cake decorating, collecting Precious Moments figurines, needle crafts, and playing bingo. Her love for stuffed bears also brought joy not only to her but to those around her.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Jim Hart; stepson, Wes Hart and his wife Jackie; brother, David Jellison (Vickie); sisters, Linda Lewis (Marvin) and Janice Van Daele (Alan); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine and Keith Jellison; stepfather, Forest Smith; and sister, Kathy Kemp.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, at Faith United Methodist Church, 22045 County Road 18, Goshen, IN 46528.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cindy’s memory may be made to the Heart City Health Center, an organization she passionately supported during her career.

An additional Celebration of Life will be held at the community center at Spruce Creek Reserve at a later date.

Cindy’s legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her.
