Obituary

Mrs. Claire I. (Grenier) Gleason, 79, of Naples FL and formerly of Hopedale MA, died unexpectedly Friday (March 26, 2021) in Naples FL. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard N. Gleason, who died in 2001.

Claire was born in Hyde Park MA, the daughter of the late William and the late Celia (Cote) Grenier. While growing up in Boston she was a member of the Color Guard for the Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps.

As a young woman, prior to her marriage to her late husband Richard, Claire was a member of the Sisters of Mercy, Halifax located in Wellesley MA. She later enjoyed a successful career as an x-ray/radiology technician, including time managing the Radiology Technicians Department at Harvard Community Health Plan in Wellesley MA.

Claire enjoyed traveling , going out to dinner and was an avid NE Patriots fan. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Claire is survived by her step-son: Todd M. Gleason and his wife Tracie of Mendon MA; her grandsons: Connor Gleason and Hayden Gleason of Mendon MA; her cousins: Joseph Mahoney of Foxboro MA and George Mahoney of West Hartford CT.

Claire was the step-mother of the late Scott R. Gleason, who died in 1996. She was also pre-deceased by her 3 brothers: Joseph, James and Rodger & her sister, Ellen.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale MA. Burial of her cremains will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. Social distancing protocols & use of face masks will be required for all facets of the funeral services.
