Obituary

Crescent Starr also known as Lynn Ravitz passed away on March 21, 2021. She was known to most as Ms. Crescent as she spent 40 years of her life as a pre K teacher. She loved her children and was known for her love of theatre and putting on performances with her students. She could turn any children’s book into a musical, teach all the songs and make the costumes. Her dedication shows not only to her students but the life long friends she made of their parents. Her other love were her animals. Whether 1 or 10 cats and dogs; she rescued them from all over! Her family is small but we will always remember Tante Crescent.

She is survived by her sister Gillian Albrecht and her niece, Alicia Cardenas and nephew, Stephan Albrecht.

We take peace at knowing she is with our mother Estelle Snyder.

Oh Crescent, I'm so sorry to hear that you flew away. I had a feeling. We've known each other since 1980 when you moved into the apartment across the hall from me. You were there when my Rozie was born. I was just thinking about the "Most Boring Club" that we started (I still have the notes that my Mother took (LOL)!) So many memories between us. I miss you. Keep in touch, if that's at all possible.

I met Crescent back in 1993 and we became fast friends who went shopping together, breakfast and when she had her truck looking for sofas. We could talk to each other about anything and was always there for each other. I watched her make costumes for the kids and when she moved into Magnolia Towers took over the movie night and even learn to crochet. I will miss you old friend but I know that you are in a better place. Rest in peace my friend I will miss you.

I have known Crescent (Lynn... She hates that LOL,) since about 1971. She was always her own person... Crazy fun and very talkative. She remained the same until the day she passed. She was more loyal to her pets, then most people are to their children. She was limited in space and movement , but not in spirit. Rest in peace my friend!
