Obituary
Curt Resnick, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017, surround by his family, in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Curt was born on October 18, 1947 in Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York. He was adopted by Louis, an Architect, and Gertrude, an Administrative Assistant. Around 1961, the Resnick family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio.
In his younger years, Curt excelled on the basketball court and loved getting into trouble with his friends. After High School, Curt attended Kent State University on a baseball scholarship and became heavily involved with the “Students for a Democratic Society,” which ended up having a huge impact on his life.
Curt, and his family, have been members of Congregation Ohev Shalom since they moved to Florida in 1990. Throughout his adult life, Curt volunteered with his wife for the United Synagogue Youth organization in New Jersey and Florida. He was also an avid sports fan and loved the heat of competition. Later in life, Curt was able to connect, and find happiness with, his matrilineal sister, Maxxine, and patrilineal family, the Rawiszers.
Curt is survived by his wife of 39 years, Phyllis, his daughter, Barbra (Steven Arthurs), granddaughter, Emily Arthurs, son, Matthew (Lauren Profis), son, Steven, his sister, Maxxine Smith (M. Wright Smith) and his shih tzu, Bentley.
