Obituary

Dana “Duane” Lovley, age 87, passed into heaven on September 13, 2017, finishing strong. Duane was born on January 21, 1930 to Clarence Lovley and Una (Boulier) Lovley in Washburn, Maine. Duane attended high school at Hermon High and graduated in 1948. He married Florence Hyson and they had four children together, Dana Duane Lovley, Kympton Dean Lovley, Wendy Ruth (Lovley) Colavecchio, and Sonya Lynette (Lovley) McGurn. He was widowed after ten years of marriage. Two years later he married Doris Ann (Clark) Lovley, and they had two children, Denise Faith (Lovley) McKinnon, and Matthew James Lovley.

Duane was a poultry farmer and owned two farms in Carmel, Maine. He attended Faith School of Theology and graduated with a ministerial degree in 1971. He was ordained as a Full Gospel Minister in 1986. He traveled with Rev. Gene Kimball, Rev. Ronnie Libby, and Dr. Russell Pier, singing and ministering alongside them.  He spent his life working in supportive ministries at various churches in Maine and Florida, as well as preaching as an evangelist. His life was spent in service to God and others, while earning a living as a poultry farmer, bus driver, hotel manager, and carpenter. He loved his family extravagantly, and always lent a helping hand to those in need. The last years of his life were spent working with his son, Matthew Lovley, at The Warehouse FourSquare Church in Astatula, Florida, sowing into the next generation.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Florence (Hyson) Lovley, his parents Clarence and Una Lovley, his older brother, Leslie Lovley, and his sister, Gayle (Lovley) Adams. He is survived by his faithful and loving wife of 56 years, Doris Ann (Clark) Lovley of Tavares, Florida; brother, Merwyn Lovley and his wife, Judy, of Hermon, Maine; his six children, Dana Lovley and his wife, Kathy of Milford, Maine; Kympton Lovley and his wife, Debbie of Hampden, Maine; Wendy Colavecchio and Dan Gunther of Bangor, Maine; Sonya McGurn and Dan McGurn of Wildwood, Florida; Denise McKinnon and her husband, Mark of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and Matthew Lovley and his wife, Jill of Astatula, Florida.  He has 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends who will miss him.

Viewing at 10 AM at Baldwin Brothers, 1350 E Burleigh BLVD, Tavares, Florida, 32778 with service immediately following at 11 AM, committal at 1:00 PM at Tavares Cemetery, 2055 Dead River Road, Tavares, Florida on September 20, 2017.

My Condolences to the family!! Bro Duane was a great Inspiration to me in The Gospel Ministry. Bro. Lovley was one of the very first men to give me a chance to preach in a church service. He was very special to me and encouraged and helped me in many ways over the years!!! Sadly missed but greatly remembered!! Thank God for Bro Lovley. His message to us is in the song he wrote: "So child, Rejoice!!"

We have many fond memories of Duane, Doris Ann, and Family! Duane was the best man in our wedding in 1970! ☺️ We remember his beautiful voice, singing solos in church, and we know he is now singing praises with the angels in heaven! He and Doris Ann were wonderful friends, and we have tried to keep in touch through family since they moved to Florida. Doris Ann's parents, Sterling and Doris were great friends with my Dad and Mom, Raymond and Madeline McPherson. The children of both families grew up and went to church together. --- Our heartfelt sympathies to all of the family. We're sure that Duane would want everyone to be rejoicing with him! You will remain in our thoughts and prayers. Love you! Forest and Sandy Doody, Corinth, ME

We were honored to know this wonderful man of God, whom we have nicknamed "Mr. Pentecost." Not only was he (and his family) a dear friend for many years, but his prayers and prophetic words have kept us going through the years. Our love and our sincere condolences go out to his family. May God give you all the strength to endure the race as Duane did. May God bless you abundantly. With love, Roland and Faith Tracy
