Daniel Butts Jr. earned
his angel wings on Wednesday, August 26th, 2020 at 11:11 PM from a heart attack
after his brave battle with cancer. He
was born September 30, 1942 and would have
celebrated his 78th Birthday. He was just shy of 50 years being
married to Evelyn Butts and their deep love for each other stood the test of
time❤ He was
born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to Merchant Marine, Daniel Butts and Maria
Latorre Butts. He grew up in Brooklyn,
NY where he went to Automotive High School and was involved in swimming,
baseball and Life Scouts, Boy Scouts of America. He was a Proud Veteran who served
in the Army during the Vietnam War and served many years as a Merchant Marine.
He was well traveled and been to faraway lands in Europe, South America, Africa
& Asia. Later he became a Maintenance Mechanic and worked for the NYC
Transit Authority. He was a self-taught musician, playing a variety of
instruments…timbales, congas, bass guitar & piano. Daniel Butts (aka
Danny) was a true gentleman, seeker of knowledge and would devour books
especially history and science fiction. He was a self-confessed Trekkie…loved
Star Trek and all things Superheroes. He loved fishing and being by the
sea…that was where his home was, and he longed to be near the ocean. But his
greatest love was his family. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Butts;
daughter, Stefanie Tsompanidis and son in law, Bill Tsompanidis, with
grandchildren, Vangeli, Eva, & Alexander Tsompanidis; son, Daniel Anthony
