Obituary

Daniel Andrew Flint “Dan”, 83, passed away surrounded by the love and comfort of his family and caregivers at Halifax Hospice Care Center on January 2, 2024. Dan was born on January 5, 1940, in Salina, Kansas to Loyd & Lora Flint. He was one of five siblings, Tim Flint, Lynn Etherton (deceased), Penny Hughes, and Virginia Corliss. Dan was a true patriot and made the decision to leave high school and serve our country in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, Dan moved to California and began his adult life. Dan met the love of his life, Laura in 1963. Their love blossomed quickly, and they were married on August 18, 1964. Their early years of marriage were spent in Burbank, California, before relocating to Kenilworth, NJ to start their family and Dan’s longtime business in floor covering. After many trips to sunny Florida, Dan & Laura alongside their three children, Regina, Andrea, and Daniel relocated to their forever home in Port Orange, FL in 1983. Dan loved the Florida weather and enjoyed all the activities the sunshine state had to offer him. Fishing, regardless of if he brought anything home for dinner that night, was something he loved to do. In the morning before work, you could find him in one of three places: at the kitchen counter waiting for Laura to prepare him a delicious breakfast, in the garage fixing or building something, or in the garden tending to his plants. In the evening you could find him in the same places, but in the garage, he would be pouring an adult beverage to quench his thirst after a long day of work. Dan was a social man, yet he rarely had anything to say, rather he offered a listening ear and a warm smile. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Laura, three children, Regina & Vincent Badali (Son In Law), Andrea Janson & Geno Di Vita (Son In Law), Daniel & Carolyn Flint (Daughter In Law), seven grandchildren, Melissa, Brittani, Joseph, Vincent, Danny, Tommy, and Maggie, and four great grandchildren, Dayton, Jaxson, Luke, & Ryan Jr. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL, 32129 on Friday, June 21 at 8:30 AM. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the mass will be available on www.ladyofhope.org/mass-times.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Following the mass, Dan will be buried at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, FL, 32754 at 11:30 AM.
