    Dear Gail,
I am so very sorry to hear that Dan has passed. Both of you have always welcomed me with open arms whenever you were in Cleveland.
In reading others messages, I agree with them that Dan was always so easy to talk to. He was very sweet, and kind, and funny, just like you Gail. I’m so sorry for your loss.
    Love, Judy Jackman

We met Dan and Gail at Kyto's birthday. Our daughter Mia fell in love with Dan and didn’t let him go asking to play with her for hours. And he was kind enough to do so...
He was such a great storyteller and had incredible sense of humor.
We'll keep him alive in our memories. Our sympathy to his whole family. We are very sorry for your loss.

    Dear Gail and family,
Thinking of you and wishing peace and comfort. Life was not suppose to be this way when we first met at 14 yrs old. I always wanted the best for my friends and it saddens me more than you know this is happening to you. Love you Gail.♥️

So sad to hear about the passing of Dan. We worked together and he was my supervisor, and a good one at that, wouldn’t hesitate giving you a hand. I always enjoyed talking to him and I remember our friendly banter during the Cubs/ Indians WS, also meeting him and Gail at the miracle games. I will miss my friend.

To Gail and family, Dan became a part of r lives when we moved to the Legends. We soon became close friends and u both made Florida a special place for us. We explored restaurants, breweries and went on To excursions together. We had many dinners with u and friends usually opening up a bottle of new wine to taste. When you came to Chicago and spent several days with us we went to the Cubs game took the bus and it rained the entire game we nearly froze. We were glad we shared that experience with both of u always laughed about that crazy day. The best part of r cruise in January was sharing the time together. Dan u were one of a kind. You were caring, generous, funny and always ready to help anyone. We will always miss u and Florida will never be the same. Gail we love you and grieve with you. We will always be here for you.

Words cannot describe our shock when we heard the news of Dan’s sudden passing. We have known Dan and Gail for the past 9 years, since we purchased the condo next to theirs. Dan was one of the first to welcome us to the building, and he offered his assistance in helping us adjust to the new community. He always greeted us with a warm smile, and took the time to chat, regardless of what he was in the middle of doing. We admired the amount of time he spent upgrading his own unit. We shared many memorable evenings together when we were in Fort Myers, either at their place, out for dinner, or at our place. He and Gail were a great team, and were perfect neighbours. We always knew we could count on them. Our hearts are broken, as we know how devastating this must be for Gail. We pray for peace for her, and for his family, as they look towards a different future from what they had imagined. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy and love. Ron and Jan Chappell

So sorry to hear about my friend Dan
We had the same job for years
And spent a lot of phone time together
I could always count on Dan
I would call him every week for something we were both the same age so we had a lot in common
He always had a quick start to a conversation and provide me with a different perspective on things
I will miss you my friend

Dearest Gail and Families, Dan was an amazing part of our lives for the past 5 years....but it SEEMED like we knew him forever! His kind, funny, friend sensitive, helpful disposition, attitude, and “zest” for life made everyone want him for their friend! SO GLAD we were with you, Dan and Gail, when you had your first visit to Wrigley Field.......(even though we were bundled up and freezing, like it was football playoffs in the Midwest in winter, and we WONDERED what possessed us to DO that!) This loss is incredibly devastating......but Dan’s “impact” will be with us always! We love you Gail, and will be “here” for you when you need us! RIP dear friend, Dan! Love, Mary Pat and Bill... (your cruising buddies, Bingo buddies, brewery buddies, and just people who were lucky enough to call you our friend!)

I can't find the words to express how grateful I am for all the memories, things, places myself and my children got to experience growing up because of Dan. I wasnt always the best daughter, but he loved me anyways and was right there no matter what. It was way too soon to say goodbye and the hole left is huge. I promise to take care of mom and make her continue on the adventures y'all hadn't finished! You left a legacy and a place in so many peoples hearts most could only dream of leaving someday. I hope you know that. I love you and I miss you....

Watching the Browns make stupid play calls and losing every Sunday won’t be the same without Dan there to commiserate with or just laugh with. Gail, we are so lucky to have met you both. We met because of our shared love of Cleveland sports but have really enjoyed your friendship in other ways over the last few years. Dan was such a fantastic guy and his immense love for you was always prevalent. We are always here for you and hope to get together as soon as we can. Xoxo - Devon

I'm so glad I got to meet Dan for Kyto's birthday. I had heard so much about him from Nate and Yukako, and it was really great to experience his cheerful zest for life and great sense of humor in person. It was so sweet hearing him recount how he coached Nate in little league baseball and they had some memorable wins. He was such a great storyteller.

I'm a bit in shock to hear of his passing, since I was hoping we'd have many more happy family gatherings in the future, but am so grateful for having had a chance to connect with him. We'll keep him alive in our memories, especially with Kyto and Ryuki. My condolences to his whole family.

I will miss Dan more than I realize now. He was truly a wonderful person. Always positive, caring, funny, and generous. He would give you the shirt off his back. Although we were not close geographically we always talked a couple of times a week, sometimes more. He was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan as well as a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. He knew every lyric from the Greetings Asbury Park album ( I know because he sang the whole thing to Gail, Mary, and myself one night). Mary and I loved the time Dan and Gail took us to see the burrowing owls at the old neighborhood where you guys lived. I'll miss having an OYA with him and the girls at Ft. Myers Brewery. He loved that place. RIP Dan, you will not be forgotten.
