Daniel Michael Little
20 June 1958 – 25 August 2017
This is the story of Daniel M. Little.
He was a wonderful man that was, and still is loved, missed terribly and forever cherished. He was an amazing son, brother, an adoring and loving husband, and wonderful father and fierce and loyal friend. The world is less bright without Dan’s presence. Dan passed away due to severe complications from a Bone Marrow Transplant at Shands Cancer Hospital, Gainesville Florida. Dan’s story began on 20 June 1958 in the great state of North Carolina where he was the oldest child born to Carroll and Ruth Little. His family settled in the Monroe/Wingate, NC area where he would spend his childhood, grow up, make many memories with his brother, Jeff and sister, Terry, make lifelong friends and graduate high school from Forest Hills High School. After high school, Dan enlisted in the Air Force in 1978 and spent the first three years of service as a military policeman. He later cross-trained into the Vehicle Operations career field where he remained until the end of his service. Dan had a very distinguished military career which culminated his retirement at the grade of Senior Master Sergeant. Dan retired from the Air Force 1 November 2002 with honor. His military career gave him the opportunity to travel throughout the world in support of our Nation’s defense. Loved ones that will miss Dan until they meet again are his wife, Kathryn, son, Nicholas and daughter-in-law, Jessica; daughter Jamie; sister Terry Williams and her husband Steve (and family); brother, Jeff Little and his wife Sandy (and family). Sisters Victoria Finch and family and Robin Frame and family. And the entire Horner clan. A memorial service / celebration of life service will be held at a date to be determined by his family. Loved ones that cleared the path for Dan is his father, Carroll Little, and his paternal grandparents. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the bethematch.org in Dan’s name.
