Obituary

Darla Jean Notestine, 73, of Ormond Beach, was granted her angel wings on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the Halifax Health Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, FL.  Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that she had touched throughout her memorable life.  Born July 17, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee, she is predeceased by her parents, F.F. “Pat” Patterson and Jessie Lee Mitchell Patterson; and three brothers, Robert, John “Jack” and Bertrand “Bert” Patterson. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Neil Notestine; her two sons, Chesley Sellers of Bunnell and Thomas (Jennifer) Sellers of Ormond Beach; one daughter, Tracee (George) Postell of Ormond Beach; four sisters, Mary Patterson, Sherry (Dave) Dunaway, Brenda Patterson, and Lori (Ken) Gibson; and five grandchildren, Krystal, Bryan, Tanisha, Madison and Jeramiah.  Darla had a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others.  She was known for her laughter, spirit, homemaking, gardening and cooking abilities.  She was an active member of her church family, Harbor Baptist Church.  She embraced her family and friends with unending love and care.    A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Harbor Baptist Church, 428 Tomoka Ave, Ormond Beach, FL.  Pastor Ronald Todd will be officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Halifax Health Hospice, Ormond Beach Care Center, 235 Booth Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
