Darla had an adventurous spirit manifested by the places she resided and the cultures she immersed herself in. She enjoyed sailing and diving in the US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, and the Florida Keys. She was an avid skier traveling to Switzerland and skiing near the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps, Italy, and Germany. In her free time she also enjoyed horse back riding and tennis. Darla was fascinated by Incan and Andean civilizations and traveled to Peru where she became enamored by the South American culture. Upon retirement as Assistant Vice President at Wellington Management, Darla built her home to live amongst the indigenous people of Ecuador. She relished in the Ecuadorian culture, lifestyle, and history and is also survived by her Ecuadorian family and god-children.
