Obituary
Darlene Weesner, formerly of Indianapolis, IN, passed away peacefully at her Ocala farm on November 2, 2016. Darlene resided in Ocala since 1962 , where she taught school, raised her son Eric, was a prolific artist, authored the book, “We Might Could…And We Did” and became an uncompromising protector of Marion County’s natural resources, establishing SHASTA (Shady Historic and Scenic Trails Assoc.) in 1985. She will be fondly remembered as an artist, educator, author and environmentalist. She is survived by her son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Eric, Lisa and Alex Weesner of Naples, FL, her sisters, Doris Wallace of Greensboro, NC and Diane Keifer-Dicks of Switzerland, and her beloved horse, Tsamba. Memorial Service and Reception will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 511 SE 3rd Street, Ocala on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:00 am. Darlene has requested no black attire and that memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, be made out to SHASTA. Arrangements by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation 954 E.
