Obituary

David Cyril Lamb, 79, most recently of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 11, 2019, after a short battle with brain cancer. David was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to James and Carmen Lamb. He graduated from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa and became a teacher for a short time, after which he became an employee at DuPont and it was from there that he retired. During his time at DuPont, he helped design and market a microtome and then he became the Asia/Pacific Business Development Manager for Clinical Diagnostics Biomedical.

David traveled extensively around the world several times a year. His favorite places were Australia and Singapore. During his lifetime, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing, woodworking, flying remote-controlled airplanes, reading, wine enthusiasm, bird watching and vacationing in Aruba for the last 19 years with his wife. It was there that the happy couple made many life-long and lasting friendships. But foremost was the time spent with family and friends. Family was truly David’s everything.

David is preceded in death by his parents, James Cyril Lamb and Carmen Lindsey Lamb; and by a sister, Patricia Lamb Hurd.

He is survived by his loving wife of more than 51 years, Tana Lamb (Edgemon); his children: Keith D. Lamb and his wife, MaryAnn Console Lamb of Warrenton, Virginia; K. Scott Lamb and his wife, Jennifer Bell Lamb, of Westminster, Maryland; his brother Richard Lamb and his wife, Darlene, of Denton, Texas; nine grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held in both Mount Dora, Florida and Wilmington, Delaware where he spent the majority of his career. The Mount Dora memorial and reception is to be held April 12th, 2019 at The Lakes of Mount Dora Clubhouse 11 AM to 2 PM. Date and service time for Delaware has not been determined at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Vitas Healthcare, who was David’s Hospice provider: 127 N. Bay Street, Suite 200, Eustis, FL 32726.
