David was like my little brother, as our fathers were Hypke Bros. Contractors and we lived a block apart. I remember him running naked to our house when he was two-as cute as a button. Then he grew up to be a fine policeman and karate instructor to our two boys, JP and Rob. David gave an incredible and inspirational eulogy at my father's funeral. He was truly a fine man. Fely, Tracy, Mo, and grandkids-my heart goes out to you on your loss.

David was like my little brother. Our fathers were Hypke Bros. Contractors and we lived close together growing up. He gave the eulogy at my father's funeral and it was inspirational. And, he and Fely were fantastic karate coaches to our boys, JP and Rob. David, I haven't seen you for a long time, but you are always in my heart.

Dave and I worked together on the Springfield Police Department for his 25 years, but more importantly we were partners working the midnight shift for many of those years. After we both retired I was fortunate enough to reconnect with Dave over the past couple of years and we relived our time together serving the city by phone and on-line. It really breaks my heart that he has passed but I’ll remember my buddy “Thumper” who always had my back as I had his. We weren’t related by blood but he was my brother. R.I.P. DAVE
Fely and Tracy our condolences, you will be in our prayers doing this trying time.

I worked with Dave at the Springfield Police Department, where we both worked the East side of the city for many years together. We experienced many adventures together and we had each others' back every time we responded to a call together. He was a brother in blue I will not forget. RIP Dave.
