Obituary

David Lynn Masur passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, after a courageous three and a half year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Dave was born April 19, 1953 in Denver, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his father Herman Masur and step-mother Eletha Masur. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Pamela, children Jordan (Alison) Masur and Alexis (Lance) Simmons, three grandchildren Caleb Simmons, Chloe Simmons and Alden Masur, brother James (Linda) Masur and sister Phyllis (John) Cornish. He was well loved by his nephews Andrew Masur and Matthew Cornish and nieces Kristen Barden and Kelly Cornish as well as his many cousins. Dave always made time for family.
Dave lived life to the fullest and always had a positive attitude. He had enough energy for two people and never sat still; always go, go, go. Family meant the world to him. Spending time with family and friends was a must. Dave and Pam lived most of their years together in Michigan and raised their family there. Upon Pam retiring, they relocated to The Villages, Florida to enjoy the retirement years. Life for Dave was also an adventure from camping in the Mountains of Colorado with family, traveling the US on his Harley and with Pam on hers or traveling to Europe. He also loved his grandchildren deeply. They were the light in his life and brought him much joy. He enjoyed trying to conquer the game of golf and loved playing softball with the Sanibel neighborhood team. He touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass will be held on August 14, 2021 at 12:00 noon at St. Vincent de Paul, 5323 CR 462, Wildwood, FL 34785. A celebration of Life will be held at the SeaBreeze Recreation Center, 2384 Buena Vista Blvd., The Villages, FL 32162 at 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Moffit Cancer Center, Tampa, Florida (give.moffitt.org) or Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (secure.pancan.org)
