There is one freedom; that's running alone
Each step that you're taking a step to your soul
The passion and courage it takes to be there
Alone with your spirit, alive in the air
And if you should stumble as you go, and if you should fall
It won't really matter if you know you gave it your all
The way becomes clearer, the way is complete
The need to be running, admit no defeat
Circles together, hold hands to the sky
The freedom of running, the freedom to fly!
And if you should stumble as you go, and if you should fall
It won't really matter if you know you gave it your all
And if you should stumble as you go, and if you should fall
The game is to learn to run again, to run to the end, to the run to the end . . .
Yet, as much as I admired and respected David McEvers as Coach, it was through my friendship with his son, Dave (with whom I had shared the joy of running), that my high esteem ripened into love, as I observed him and his lovely bride Juliana continue to support their only son in all imaginable ways after a freak accident rendered him quadriplegic. Such nobility . . . like Royalty they are . . . all three together now . . . united in peace and bliss . . . forever. Amen.
Coach will be missed for sure. Jill,Cheryl and Marcia please accept my condolences and know your father loved you. John Mock
