Obituary

David N. Hamilton of North Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was 75 years old. David was born on November 18, 1945, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late Earl Hamilton and Mary (Nevil) Hamilton.

During his working life, David spent some time working as a salesman in the air conditioning industry, but it was his time dedicated to traveling and performing as an entertainer for the County Fair that really put smiles on the faces who were lucky enough to cross paths with him.

Among the many things that David enjoyed doing, he had a knack for breaking down and building computers and blowing balloons into all sorts of different shapes, such as dogs, fruit baskets, motorcycles, anything you could think of, he could create it. He was also a member of AA for 26 years. David was also known to be quite the handyman. If something was broken, he could fix it.

David is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Laura M. (Heiden) Hamilton; siblings, Steve Hamilton, Ronald Kirk (Sue) Hamilton, Greg (Tammy) Hamilton, Doug Hamilton, Randy (Vivian) Hamilton, Becky (Wade) Lamb, and Pam Johnson; children, Mari (Rick), Nevil Kirk (Michelle) Hoover, Cami (Jay) Braun, Susan, Michael (Brandy) Hamilton, Tim (Leitza) Byrnes, Dan (Terezingha) Byrnes; Sisters In Law, Cheryl Heiden, Laura Klevinsky and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

David certainly was one of a kind. He was always interesting to talk to, so animated and knowledgeable about so many subjects. He holds a special place in his brother Randy’s heart and will be missed. He introduced me to a nature app recently that identifies plants and animals. I think of my kind brother-in-law every time I use it.

Thinking of all the gallons of ice cream and key lime pies we shared and those nights of endless scrabble games...I'll never forget you David!
