Funeral Mass for David Patrick Fernandez, 48, New Smyrna Beach who passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 will be 3:00 PM Thursday October 20 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 4000 South Atlantic Avenue New Smyrna Beach FL 32169. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 1:00 PM. Casual beach attire is requested. A reception of family and friends will follow from 5 to 7 at Traders on Flagler Avenue.

Memorial donations in David’s honor are requested the Southeast Volusia Youth Sports Association at http://www.cityofnsb.com/204/Youth-Baseball-Softball.

Dave was the first bartender I met when I moved to FL in '94-I began working at "Riverview Charlie's" soon after... Trader's has come a LONG way since! I've seen Dave pretty much every time I venture over from Orlando- a big hug, maybe a bevy together, meeting my guy Kevin, parting with the "Bro Hug"...but that smile... Dave, you will be SOOOOO missed! My heartfelt thoughts and prayers to your family and friends❤️

Almost 20 years ago we started our yearly tradition of spending Memorial Day weekend in NSB which included nightly visits to Trader's. That first time we were lucky to meet Pat and Dave and became fast friends. Every year we looked forward to stopping in and I cherish the many memories and absolute blasts that we've shared. I can't imagine visiting NSB and not seeing your smiling face. I'm truly saddened to hear of your passing. You will truly be missed my friend. May you rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers to your family and Trader's family.

We can't describe the sadness we feel over your sudden passing Dave. We'll miss walking past Trader's and seeing you sitting at the window by the bar, holding court with the Trader's faithful and peddling to the Southeaster to hang out with us when you could. We went to a beach bar and the owner told us to go to Trader's and meet David, he's from West Virginia. Little did we know that a great friendship would begin that day. Our yearly trips to New Smyrna will always be filled with great memories of David, who not only treated us as friends, but Family. We will deeply miss him. May David's Memory be Eternal.
