Obituary

David R Sipes lost his race against lung cancer on September 13, 2016 at home in Orlando, Florida.  Born in Hagerstown, MD to Robert Sipes and Reba (Miller) who predeceased him.  He is survived by the love of his life for 36 years, Wilma (Ramp).  Also surviving is his brother Lowell Sipes and his wife Kim, his sister Susan Kelbaugh, his daughters Cathy Rich (Sipes) and husband Brenden, Krista Sipes, several nieces and nephews and several grandchildren all of Hagerstown, MD.  Also step-children Kary Babins and Noah, Kelly Knees and Erich, Lori Crist and Donald, Curtis and Chris Criche and several step-grandchildren.  David worked 25 years at G.O.A.A. where he retired.  There he made life-long friendships.  He was a Florida Gators football fan.  He was a huge Nascar fan with his favorite being #3 Dale Earnhardt. He took pride in his car which was a replica of a Nascar Pace Car.  David and Wilma spent many years together and traveled and had a vacation home where they met and enjoyed their time with friends.  He loved going to the racetrack in Daytona Beach.  He will be missed by all.  “He was a good tipper”.  A Celebration of Life will be held on October 1, 2016 at Nice and Easy on Hoffner Avenue in Orlando at 12:30.  All are welcome.

Not that I have spent a significant time with my Uncle, he always made you feel welcome/at home in his presence. He would give you the shirt off of his back.
But most of all...he was one of the funniest people I have ever met.
