David (Dave) Thomas Perry, born August 10, 1950, in Alice, Texas, passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his home in The Villages, Florida.

Dave graduated from Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, and was a United States Navy veteran. For many years, Dave served as a civilian disaster relief specialist for the United States Small Business Association.

He was an avid golfer who enjoyed nothing more than a day on the driving range or a round of golf with his friends at one of the many courses throughout The Villages.

Predeceased by his wife of more than 20 years, Laura Deubler Perry, Dave is survived by his siblings Dorothy Winebarger of Boone, NC, Margaret Hardin (Charles) of Blowing Rock, NC and Clayton Perry (Kathy) of Elkin, NC; and his stepsons, Eric Hoverstad (Sarah) of Raleigh, NC and Carl Hoverstad (Jennifer) of Peachtree City, GA.

A service honoring Dave’s life will be held at New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, Florida, on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00am. All who knew Dave are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all who wish to honor Dave’s memory do so by taking in a round of golf and/or making a donation to First Tee of the Triangle (N.C.), a non-profit that enables children to build strength of character by integrating the game of golf with a life skills curriculum.
