HOCKING, DEAN- Dean A. Hocking, 79, of New Smyrna Beach, FL died on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at his home surrounded by family.
Dean was born in Rockaway, New Jersey to the late Lenord and Mildred (Mitchell) Hocking. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Janet (Raymond). He is survived by his second wife, Darlene (Engle), of New Smyrna Beach, and her two sons and daughter; a sister, Barbara (Floyd) Sigler of Franklin, NC; three daughters: Denise Hocking of Rochester, NY, Diane Dobbs of Malta, NY, and Michelle Hocking of Amsterdam, NY; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Dean served in the Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hocking, a banker, moved to Florida from Amsterdam, NY. He traveled extensively and enjoyed golf, cooking, and sailing. He served as a volunteer for a number of community service groups and child advocacy foundations, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Amsterdam and Guardian ad Litum of Florida.

I was sorry that I last touch with your father after he moved to Florida. We enjoyed many sailing adventures as well. Dean enjoyed life.
