Obituary

Debi Gorzka (Dollard)

After a brief illness, Debi passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, holding her husband’s hand as she slipped away. Much like beautiful flowers, her time here was limited. We will forever miss her spirited nature and her love for family and friends. Debi was a meticulous planner and organizer in both her personal and professional lives. She was our go-to-person for orchestrating family gatherings. It is quite true that Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Debi grew up in Rochester, NY and had long careers with both Eastman Kodak and Xerox. She was a passionate Buffalo Bills fan (GO BILLS!) Debi met her husband Michael in Fairport NY and they both retired to The Villages in 2013. Upon moving to the Villages, Debi went to work for the Villages Park and Rec department as a Facility Manager. Through her 12 years of employment, she worked at Lake Miona, Everglades and Ezell Rec Centers. Debi was truly passionate about her job and loved working with residents and staff to plan events and help people organize parties. Debi was also a volunteer for The Villages Homeowners Advocates and organized and planned the monthly bingo event.

Debi is survived by her husband Michael Dollard, her brother Joseph Gorzka Sr. (Margaret) and sister Diane Dianetti (John), all residents of The Villages. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews spread over several generations including a brand new great great nephew, her Husband’s 4 children and 3 grandchildren and various other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Debi’s life will be held on November 9th at Manatee Recreation Center, 1512 Hillsborough Trail between the hours of 1 and 4 pm.

Donations can be made in Debi’s honor by visiting the website of the Humane Society of Sumter County.
