Obituary
Deborah Jean (Ramsey) Newsom: September 9, 1929 – March 6, 2021
It is impossible to condense a life well-lived into a few paragraphs. No matter how much we could say, the reality of Jean’s life is far bigger than mere words can convey. She was active in many ways throughout her years. She enjoyed being a part of the Orlando Opera Company, quilting and playing bridge with her friends, and cooking delicious meals. She loved international travel, hosting parties, and spending long hours at the beach.
But, by far, the most important tribute we can pay is to say that she loved Jesus, her husband, Bill, her family, and her extended family deeply. And they loved her back just as deeply! Bill and Jean were married for 70 years and had four children. From their love grew a large, loving family including many wonderful spouses, 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Jean’s legacy will shine through these generations for many years to come…what an honor it was to have known her as a mom, grandma, great-grandma, and auntie! Although she will be greatly missed, we are so happy she’s now pain-free, seeing the faces of all her loved ones who went before, and never, ever having to count another calorie again!
There will be no memorial service and we ask each of you to remember Jean, Mom, Mimomma, and Aunt Jean in whatever way brings you the most joy…that’s what she would want.
