Obituary

Dennis Grant “Frog” Beaverson, 72, of The Villages, FL, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in the loving company of his wife and son. Dennis was born in Bowling Green, Ohio. He was the second child to Royce Beaverson and Jean (Cunningham) Beaverson. He married Nancy Rose Bradley of Sandusky, OH on January 30, 1971. Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy, of The Villages, FL, his only son, Grant (Maura) Beaverson of Greenville, NC and his granddaughter, Kaylee Arlene Beaverson. Dennis is also survived by his three siblings, Royce A. (Ruth Ann) Beaverson of Bowling Green, OH, Dale Colleen (Rick) Schwab of North Baltimore, OH and Kristy (Jeff) Muir of Bowling Green, OH as well as his many nieces, nephews and cousins, including his special “Cuz”, Bob Newlove.  Dennis was preceded in death by both of his parents, his loving grandmother, Thelma Cunningham, his favorite Aunt and Uncle Newlove and his best friend, Bob “Rat” Drury. Dennis was a 1964 graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended Bowling Green State University where he focused his efforts on history, production and business management, pool halls, nightclubs and parties alike.  After finding himself, Dennis found a rewarding and lengthy career in retail. He spent years working for others before he and Nancy decided to go their own way. They started, operated, and co-owned Fashions “N” More, a small retail chain of ladies’ clothing stores, for 31 years in southwest Florida before retiring together in 2009 and then moving to The Villages in 2016.   Dennis led a very active and enjoyable life surrounded by his wife, son, daughter-in law, family, and countless friends. His greatest joy was his newborn granddaughter. He loved to travel, play golf, fish, shoot pool, and just plain have fun. Never a day went by that Dennis didn’t have a smile on his face or a song in his heart.  A Celebration of Dennis’s Life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 2 to 6 pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate! Please contact Nancy for details.  In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL, 32778.

Dennis loved life, retirement, living in The Villages, and he especially loved Nancy, which he openly expressed many times. The joy, happiness and fulfillment in his life was always on display with his big ever present smile. We so much enjoyed the good times we had with Dennis and Nancy during our dinners out, monthly game nights, and golf outings. He kept us laughing with all of his mischievous antics. We were blessed to have his friendship and will miss him very much.

Dennis and Nancy were our next door neighbors on Montclair Lane and they were always so friendly and warm. They would go for their daily walks and if they saw us outside would always stop and say hello. I don't think I ever saw Dennis without a smile on his face. A very special guy! I will never forget how they fed my husband when he was alone and recuperating from heart bypass surgery..couldn't thank them enough! Wonderful man married to a wonderful woman. He will be missed

Dennis was a guy who could make you smile without saying a word. We spent so much time together in school trying to figure out what clever trouble we could create...and we succeeded. The cornerstone of all of our antics was humor, if it wasn't funny, (at least to us), we didn't do it.

Dennis was a lovely man and his affection for Nancy and Grant was never a secret; they were the reason he drew breath.

I will relish the time I had with him with a smile and laugh, and mourn his loss until we meet again.
