Obituary
Dennis William Geyer (64), of Ormond Beach, FL, passed away at his home on January 20, 2021. Born on December 19, 1956 in Teaneck, NJ to Harold W. Sr and Leonora A. (Smith) Geyer, Dennis spent the majority of his life in Washingtonville, NY. Formerly employed by IBM in Fishkill, NY, Dennis was also an active member of the Monell Engine Company for over 40 years and relished his time as Chief and President over the course of his membership. A devoted Jets, Mets, and Budweiser fan, Dennis always enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, attending concerts at Bethel Woods, taking vacations to Minerva with his fellow firefighters, checking out local breweries, and hanging out at the beach. He was also the most supportive, and best, girl Dad.
Dennis was predeceased by his father, Harold W. Geyer Sr., his mother, Leonora A. (Smith) Geyer, both of Washingtonville, NY; his sister-in-law, Linda J. (Gralton) Geyer of Washingtonville, NY; and his brother-in-law, Charles I. Decker Jr. of Washingtonville, NY.
Dennis is survived by his loving daughters, Heather A. Geyer of Milwaukee, WI, and Melissa L. Geyer of Washingtonville, NY; his brother, Harold W. Geyer Jr. of Yadkinville, NC and many beloved nieces and nephews, cherished friends and his best four-legged pal, Buddy.
The family would like to thank his amazingly kind neighbors, Dave and Mary of Ormond Beach, FL, as well as the incredible staff, nurses, and doctors of UF Health Shands Hospital and the caring team at Interim Home Healthcare.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Monell Engine Company, 89 East Main Street, Washingtonville, NY or to one of Dennis’s favorite charities, Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Plans for a celebration of life are underway and will likely be held in the spring of this year in Washingtonville, NY.
Rest easy, Brother. God bless.
I'll miss you heckling the musicians.
I'll miss our "late night confidentials" as you kindly waited for me to close up.
I will miss giving you hugs that almost knocked you down!
I miss you...
Until we meet again, rest in peace my friend
crew. You will be greatly missed but I know you are hanging with your bestie Tom McGovern at the Bar in Heaven.
God Bless You !
With Love,
Deb
