Obituary

Diane Susan Sain passed away on December 3rd, 2021 at her home under the care of her loving family, friends and hospice after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Diane was born in Superior, WI on January 25, 1948.  She lived in the Twin Cities for the majority of her life and raised her two sons, Robert and Brian Albin.  She met Bob Sain in Minnesota and they married in 1993.  They retired to The Villages, FL in 2008.

Diane was always a positive force in the lives she touched along the way.  Even during her four-year fight with cancer, she stayed optimistic, strong and kept her sense of humor.

She loved playing golf, doing water aerobics classes, hula hoop and Zumba classes, her red hat ladies, cards and Mahjong with friends, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and was always the life of the party!  She loved being a Grandmother and enjoyed watching the grandchildren grow up and cooking their favorite meals for them whenever they came to visit.

Diane is survived by her husband Bob; son Robert (Stephanie) Albin, son Brian Albin (Michelle Bottin), stepdaughter Shelly Eisel (Jon) and step-son Jason Sain and step daughter-in- law Susan Benfield.  Grandchildren Jacob (Natalie), Owen (Anne), Gavin (Sophie Frisbie), Grant and Julia Albin, Cati (Julian) Williams and Colton Eisel, Zach Sain, brother Richard (Diana) Gambeski and sister Carol Swanson.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Stanley and Mary Gambeski, brother Stanley Gambeski Jr., sister JoAnn Buchanan, brother-in-law Leslie Swanson and step-son Robert Sain.

Memorial donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation at cornerstonehospice.org.  There will be a celebration of life in The Villages and Minnesota. Details will be announced later.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-480-5959.  Sentiments may be left online at www.baldwincremation.com.

Diane was a dear friend and wonderful sister-in-law to my mother Wanda Lee Albin. My grandmother Doris Albin and Wendy adored her in those early years before she moved away to start her best life - with her two sons and new husband. I just found that the lung cancer took her away and we shared a few notes to one another several years ago after Wendy died in 2018. I was thinking of Diane when my father Buck - Neal Baker passed away a couple of months ago and wanted to check up on her. I'm so sorry to hear her life was cut short in the Villages and her happy life, and know she is in a better place with our loving God. My condolences to you Robert and Brian - you are my Albin cousins, and I wish you well. I have lost contact with my Uncle John Albin, as I tried to contact him when my dear father passed away.

This is the dumb blonde dingy Diane was my best friend ever. We had so much crazy fun and talks we shared anything and everything . Even though thru the years and the distance apart our friendship continued I miss her sooo much. Our favorite thing was with the gingerbread cookie. Actually anything with the gingerbread man. Carol

I met Diane in 1979 at our work place Graphtronics. Diane and Diane is what they would call us because at work we were always together. I can't begin to tell you how many laughs and funny stories we had. So so many. We continued to share adventures even beyond the work place. She will forever be in my heart and I will never forget her smile, laugh and sense of humor!! Love you girlfriend always and forever!! Signed: Diane (the younger one)
