Mrs. Dianne Ruth “GG” Gouda Bates, daughter of the late Russel William Shroder and Virginia Barbara Siebert, was born June 22, 1937 in Toledo, Ohio. She was of Lutheran faith, and attended the public schools of Lake County where she graduated from Lake High School, class of 1955. She won many awards in Home Economics in high school, “top of class”. Dianne later continued pursuing her Associates degree at Macomb Community College.
Dianne was united in holy matrimony to Craig R. Bates in Jan. of 1994. This union was blessed with four children from her previous marriage, and one daughter of their own.
Dianne was an owner of many businesses including Sun Glo Citrus, Francine Manor Apartments, and Silver Moon Jewelry, among others. She was an artist who loved to paint, and inspired many people. Her first job was as a Graphic Designer which influenced her desire to be an artist. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers and seascapes, she painted so well.
