Dixie Lee MacInnis was born in Brunswick Georgia on March 24, 1940. She was the daughter of George Steeves and Geraldine (Noyes) Steeves, the sister of John and Scott Steeves and the stepdaughter of Robert Puglia. She graduated from Newton High School, in Newton MA. Dixie married John MacInnis and they raised their family in Burlington MA. Dixie was a snowbird living primarily in Londonderry NH, and she passed away in Englewood FL where she enjoyed her winters that kept her youthful spirit going.

Dixie leaves behind her four children John, Steven, Colin and Linda and their spouses Kim, Laurie and Jay. She also leaves behind her brother and sidekick Scott, her dearly loved grandchildren Samantha, Brendan, Kasey, Kaela and CJ as well as many good friends, nieces, and nephews.

Dixie was a creative, fun and radiant soul who will be remembered for her smile and positivity. She told stories of her adventurous upbringing as her family traveled through the south and Maine. She cherished Millinocket Maine, where many of her relatives resided. Dixie was a proud American who appreciated everything she had, especially family and friend relationships. She was very fond of her parents, stepfather, brothers, grandparents, and cousins. Dixie was an amazing mother who was always involved in her children’s lives. She spent time as a Girl Scout leader and a Boy Scout den leader. She loved watching her kids and grandkid’s sporting events, boat trips on the lake and making people laugh. She loved camping, singing, music, road trips, getting lost in a good book, art, Boston sports teams, crossword puzzles, and life in general. Before retiring, Dixie enjoyed her work and co-workers as a custom picture framer.

Dixie lived life to the fullest and within her final days contently stated to her children “I had a great life and it’s been quite a ride!” Dixie effortlessly touched countless hearts along her journey and will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
