Obituary

Don was the adored husband and best friend of Sally, who spoiled her with his wonderful cooking and lunch box surprises. They traveled, cruised, and took motorcycle rides to many wonderful places. They were teammates in a bowling league, and opponents in a Fantasy Football league, where Don usually made it to the “superbowl.”

Don was a loving, encouraging, fun father to Cheryl (Bryant) Tucci. He was my greatest supporter in anything I would endeavor. You went above and beyond to always support our family.

You would often find Don discussing the Bears and White Sox with his son-in-law Rocco Tucci. He would always lend a hand to build or fix something for him.

“Papa” was what his grandkids Joseph & Sara called their affectionate grandpa. There wasn’t a sporting event or a music concert he would miss. He was one of their biggest cheerleaders.

He was the fond Stepdad of Jonathan Martinez, and found special places to eat and see when Jon visited.

He was the best “dog dad” of Maggie and spent many good times at the beach and dog park.

Don was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 73 for over 45 years.

His Harley Motorcycle was his pride and joy, and a highlight was going to the motorcycle rally in Sturgis, South Dakota where he received his first tattoo.

There was not a song on the radio, that he wouldn’t sing.

He was very loved and will be missed.

He wouldn’t want us to be sad for long, but to be thankful we had so many good years with a lifetime of memories.

Thinking of you today and always, we will love you forever. xxx

We were neighbors in Oak Lawn but only saw each other at the Staneks. Who knew that a few years later that I would be working with Cheryl? You raised a beautiful daughter inside and out, which is why she is one of my Best Friends. I will help to take care of her for you Rest in Peace Don.

Don was a great guy. He made my sister Sally very happy. We all liked Don and the fact that he loved the Bears, Sox and Harleys was a definite plus. I know Sally will miss him tremendously.

You are in our prayers Sally. I remember when we did the Big Fat Greek Wedding at work. He was laughing and just went along with everything. He will always be with you and will watch over you. Love you Evelyn
