“Donald Coleman Cannon (Don), 77, recently from Leesburg, Va. passed away on December 3, 2018 from a heart attack in Tavares, Fl (after recovering from 4 strokes on  December 21 & 24, 2017).  Don was born January 22, 1941 in Front Royal, Va. to Burrell F. Cannon, Sr., and Lucy O’Bannon Cannon who have preceded him in death.


He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Barbara Cannon; his brother, Burrell F. Cannon, Jr. (Sonny) (Deloris); children, Elizabeth Cannon Thomas (Michael); Brian Cannon (Bethany); step-children Richard Maines (Melanie); Gillian Kirkpatrick (Michael LaPointe); grandchildren Ryan Butler, Patrick Butler, Bethany Butler; and step-grandchildren Eric Maines, and Melanie Maines.


Most of Don’s life was spent in the Northern Virginia area where he made a significant impact on the local real estate and appraisal business.  He was an award winning sales manager for Long & Foster Realtors in the 70’s and went on the become a Certified General real estate appraiser and Broker and partnered with Dave LeRoy to form a highly respected LeRoy & Cannon Realtors and Appraisers company in Leesburg, Loudoun County, Va.  Don also held a Private Pilots license and a Master Captains boat license.


A celebration of Don’s life will be held in the Leesburg, Va. area in the Spring of 2019 (an announcement of Date, Time and Place will be placed in the Loudoun Times Mirror prior to the date).”

    To Barbara and all of Don's family I send my condolences and sympathy. Don was always a gentleman. He was always positive in his thinking and in his actions. I always enjoyed his company. So sorry for your loss.
