Obituary

Donald Cummings, Manasquan, NJ a winter resident of New Smyrna Beach died Thursday, February 26, 2009.   Don was born in Queens, New York worked as a furniture upholsterer. He served our nation in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a parishioner at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church New Smyrna Beach.   He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years Jean, son Donny (Lynn) Cummings of New York, NY, daughter Denise (Jeff) Johnston of Hicksville, NY and grandchildren Donald John, Kelsey, Caitlin, Delaney, Shannon and Brianna. Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32119 or American Heart Assn 555 W Granada Ormond Beach FL 32174. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 AM at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church 4000 South Atlantic Avenue New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169 on March 2, 2009 (map/driving directions) 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Service 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169 on March 1, 2009 (map/driving directions) Cremation arrangements under the direction of Baldwin Brothes Cremation Service.

    I can't tell you how sad I was to hear of Don's passing. In the short time I knew him, I could tell he was a kind and gentle soul, as well as yourself. There is no doubt he will be missed by many friends and family, and I am truly sorry I can't be there for you at this time, but am looking forward to spending time with you again in the near future.
