Obituary

Donald Lincoln Dorsey, 85, passed into the arms of Jesus April 15, 2022. He was 3rd of 10 children that were born to James Boyd and Lora May (Roark) Dorsey. He was born in Clay County, West Virginia February 22, 1937. He graduated from Lanier High School in Eaton, OH in 1955 where he excelled in Track and Field. He graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, IL with a Bachelors degree in education in 1962.

He taught 7th grade high school science in Gilman, IL for 11 years. He taught Construction technology and he created house design using CAD-CAM (Computer Aid Design) at Kankakee Community College in Kankakee, IL for 16 years. He raised Arabian horses for many years. He worked in construction, and he designed and built many houses. He was president of the Illinois Drafting Education Association. His passion was bicycling and photography.  He rode his bicycle 50,000 miles in Flagler County, FL for 16 years. He was an avid Bible reader and scholar. He attended First Baptist Church, Bunnell, FL.

He had three children with his first wife Evelyn Bowen: Theodore Dorsey, Carrie Sukova and Anne Aubrey. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thad and Daniel, two sisters, Joy Combs and Wilma Koenig.

He is survived by his is wife Helen Scarborough Dorsey, three stepchildren, Rebecca JonRyan, Randal Bereolos, and Renetta Gibson, 6 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three children and five grandchildren. Lincoln is dearly loved and greatly missed.

He will have a graveside service at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims FL. on May 3, 2022, at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Kaleb Snider will Officiate.
