Obituary

Donald Pearson, Jr., 74, of Leesburg, Florida passed away Friday, June 3rd surrounded by his family. Don was born on September 27th, 1947 in Newark, New Jersey to his parents, Donald and Muriel of Livingston, New Jersey. During his youth, Don and his younger brother spent countless hours modifying muscle cars and hot rods, a passion that he retained throughout his life. After graduating from Livingston High School in 1966, Don joined the Army where he proudly served his country between 1967 and 1969. Following his honorable discharge in 1969, Don returned home to resume his passion for cars and to start a new chapter in his life. In 1973, Don married the love of his life, Jean Pearson. In 1976, Don welcomed his first daughter, Amy, into the world. Two years later in 1978, Don was blessed enough to welcome a second daughter, Cindy, into his life. Although he returned to New Jersey frequently to visit friends and family, Don moved to Florida in 1996 to take advantage of the warm Florida weather and the year-round car cruising opportunities that it affords.

A loving father and husband that loved classic cars, a good road trip, and spending time with friends and family, Don was always full of life. Don was known for his sense of humor, his easy-going demeanor, and his willingness to always go above and beyond to help others.

Don is survived by his wife, Jean Pearson; daughter Cindy Smith; and granddaughters Jeanna, Ashley, Abby, and Sara; sister Jean Pearson; and brother Scott Pearson.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 10th, 2022 at 10:00am at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Tavares, Florida.

Don was a wonderful part of my younger days. He and I would work on cars and go to shows together. He painted my vehicles and they always won because of his talent. I have never seen a more talented man and I never will. I am sending prayers and hugs to Jean and Cindy and also to his brother Scott and all his grandchildren.

Words cannot express how much we are going to miss Don. He was a friend for so many years and brought such enjoyment whenever we were together. His passion for classic and antique vehicles was so evident. He had a gift to make them even more beautiful than they already were. Don was so full of life and had a great sense of humor. He was a true gentleman who loved Jean and his family. We have such wonderful memories that we will always treasure. Until we meet again, rest in our Savior's arms Don.
