Donald Felton Tyler, Sr. of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the age of 76. He was born in Columbus, Georgia and was a 1959 graduate of Southwest Dekalb High School in Decatur, Georgia. He was a long-time member of Saint Brendan’s Catholic Church and a General Motors retiree. He was a former member of Moose, Knights of Columbus and the Board of Directors for the North Peninsula. He enjoyed woodworking, RV traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. His talents were many and his jokes were endless.
He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, community member and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents Ben Lewie Tyler and Neta Dell Hendrick Tyler and brother, Benny Tyler. He will be dearly missed and is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 59 years, Tommie Williams Tyler; his sister Barbara Tyler Culpepper of Jacksonville, FL; three sons: Felton (and Cece) Tyler of Barnwell, SC; Martin Tyler of Bowling Green, KY; and Chris Tyler (and Gladys Reyes) of Ormond Beach, FL; six granchildren: Kristen Tyler Randall (and Jason), Casey Tyler Black, James (and Amanda) Tyler, Kalen Tyler, Carol Tyler and Kenzie Tyler; six great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
Family and friends will gather for a celebration of his life at a later date.

    We only met Don a short time ago but what an impression he made on us. We smile every time we think of him and will miss him and his jokes. Ed and I will always have you in our hearts.

    Don was perhaps the happiest member of the South West Dekalb class of 1959. I never saw him in a bad mood. Even though I seldom saw him in the many years since we graduated...I still feel a sense of loss. God bless you Tommie Ann
