Following military retirement he worked for Mclaughlin Research Corporation in San Diego, California as a program manager for the MK 50 torpedo, a realtor for Century 21 All Service in El Cajon, and Barona Casino as a video technician in Lakeside, California.

When I met Don four years ago I was walking my dog and he was outside with Hunter. We both came to realize that we were both retired Navy. Our conversation quickly reviled that I too was a Torpedomans Mate, MK 46 technician, and also a retired LDO (similar commissioning program as CWO). It was unbelievable to find someone who had a similar career to me 16 years earlier. He came over for dinner a few times and my husband (retired TMC submarines) and I had wonderful conversations with him. Fair winds and following seas Don. So lucky to have known you.
