Donna Marie Steighner Morris, long time resident of New Smyrna Beach, and retired Real Estate Broker of Morris Realty died on Friday, April 26, 2013, peacefully passing in her sleep surrounded by her loving family members and friends.
Donna was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September, 25, 1948 to Edward and Marie Steighner. At the age of seven she moved with her family to Florida, settling in New Smyrna Beach in 1956. In 1971 she met and married her lifelong partner and soul mate, Frank Stanley Morris, of Cincinnati Ohio. After living a few short years in Cincinnati, along with her husband and two children, she returned to New Smyrna Beach.
As an independent business woman, Donna owned and operated Answer All Telephone Answering Service from 1981 to 1999, later going back to her original profession as a realtor.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and loved singing in the Sunday choir. She was also a long-time member of TOPS and a strong supporter in pro-life movements. Her interests included family, sewing, reading, card games, water aerobics, and donating to various charities.
In addition to her beloved husband, Frank, Donna leaves her son, David Morris, her daughter, Tami and son-in-law Rick Hill, and her dearly loved grandson, Casey Hill. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Edward (Linda) Steighner and Mark Steighner, and four sisters, Judy (Mike) Beard, Peggy (Danny) Denkins, Geri (Warren) Wilson, and Jo (Mike) Tripodi, and her beloved nieces and nephews as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie Steighner.
Funeral Mass for Donna will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 1st, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Fr. Donlon Drive, New Smyrna Beach. Family will receive friends 5:00 PM Tuesday at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place, 1 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach. A Rosary will be said on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers. Burial will follow the Mass on Wednesday at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery.
