Obituary

Donna Mae McClanahan-Pivonka, 71, passed March 30, 2022, in Ormond Beach, Florida. She was born October 21, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio to parents Benjamin and Helen McClanahan.

Donna was a certified dietary manager and a Bear Creek volunteer. She loved traveling with her friends and her family, spending time with them. She enjoyed living life to its fullest. Donna was a friend to every person she met. Donna is dearly loved, and her memory and love will always be in our hearts.

Donna was preceded in death by her brother Benjamin McClanahan and his wife Paula McClanahan. Donna is survived by her husband, George Pivonka of Ormond Beach, FL, son, Dan Shepherd (Shawna), of Colorado Springs, CO, daughter, Christy Bailey (Ollie), of Mt. Gilead, OH, stepson, Keith Pivonka, stepdaughter, Dawn Pivonka, of Jacksboro, TN, and her 3 sisters, Patricia Mills (George), Rita Wieczorkowski (Ron), and Mary Jo Hacker (Dana). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adriana, Christopher, Jaxon, Lauren, Logen, MacKenzie, Michael, Rebekah, Thomas, Tina, Tori, Zack, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1000s of friends.

Donna requested that in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made in her name to Jennings Center for Older Adults in Garfield Heights, Ohio (216) 581-2900, The American Cancer Society, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

    So many great memories / stories told from growing up with the Pivonka family to reconnecting with my Uncle and living out your retirement in a beautiful place and meeting new friends, I know how happy you where.....Gonna miss ya lots, God bless, may the angels hold you close.

    We go back a lot of years, Donna; we probably met when you came to Vicki's, my mom and uncle's store. You lived your life to the fullest, enjoying every minute of every day, especially Florida's sunshine and the waters of the Atlantic. Rest easy, my long-time friend...until we meet again...
