Obituary

Doris Jean Crews (nee Johnson) of Eustis, Florida, passed away on January 1, 2022. She was 92 years old.  Doris was born in Greenock, Pennsylvania, on September 20, 1929, to Jean (nee McLaughlin) and Harry Johnson.

She was the eldest of their four children and is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Edward Dale Johnson, and her beloved sister, Donna Rebecca Boles.  Her brother, Claire Elmer Johnson, of Tampa, survives.  The family moved to Eustis in 1946, and Doris graduated from Eustis High School the following year.   Doris wed her husband, William Edward Crews, in August of 1950, and the couple were married until his death in 2016.   Soon after her marriage, Doris worked at Grand Island Nurseries, where she discovered her life-long love of gardening.  The majority of her career was spent in the banking industry, and she retired as an Executive Vice President from First Family Federal Savings and Loan, where she made lifelong  friends.

She also enjoyed scrapbooking and made many beautiful albums that will be cherished.  She was the proud mother of three children and is survived by each:  Lynda Lee Crews (Andrew Goodearl), Timothy Edward Crews (Debra), and Kimberly Jean Crews.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren (Grace, Angus, Cameron, Samantha, Danielle, Ryan, Jay, and Natalie), seven great grandchildren (Alexis, Madison, Braiden, Macy Jo, Graham, Abigail and Jaxson) and many nieces and nephews.  Memorial services will be held at LifePointe Church, 3551 E Orange Ave, Eustis, FL 32736 on January 28th at 1:30 pm.
