Dorothea S. Nobile, 91, of Edgewater died Monday, January 12, 2009 at the Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. Dorothea was born September 7, 1917 in Trenton, NJ. She worked for the NJ Bell Telephone Company for many years and was the first President of the CWA labor union in 1947. She later retired from the New Jersey Drivers License Bureau as a supervisor in 1976. Dorothea enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving children, Susan (Roger) Stokes of Edgewater, Rose Nobile (Michael Heran) of Hercules, CA, Dorothea Nobile of Tucson, AZ and Frank Nobile of Port St. Lucie, FL; seven grandchildren, Ian Nobile, Elizabeth Phillips, Erin Nobile, Rebekah Love, Keta Asbury, Brandon Nobile, and Matthew Nobile; five great grandchildren, brother Henry Schuler and two sisters, Margaret Galliyano and Isabella Schuler.
