Dorothy “Dee” Taylor Fontaine
Dee Fontaine, 73, of Ocala, Florida, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, on January 12, 2018. She was born in Utica, New York to Gordon B. Taylor and Dorothy (McCormick) Taylor on June 21, 1944. Having been discharged from the Army after WWII, Major Taylor settled his family in St. Petersburg, FL, where he established his medical practice. Dee graduated from Northeast High School in 1962. She attended Stetson University in Deland, University of South Florida, and University of Central Florida in Ocala, FL. During her school years, Dee was on the swim team and participated in many meets throughout the Southeast, receiving many blue ribbons and three AAU national gold titles. She taught remedial classes in elementary schools in St. Petersburg and Ocala for nearly forty years.
Along with her parents, Dee is predeceased by her sister, Ann Taylor.
She leaves behind her grieving husband, Rev. Christopher Fontaine; her sons: Gordon Hatch and his wife, Liz, of California; Gregory Hatch and his wife, Diana, of Tampa; and Scott Fontaine of Ocala; by her daughter, Alice Fontaine of Ocala; her brother Robert Taylor and his wife, Linda, of South Carolina; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memoriam Mass will be held at St. George Anglican Cathedral, Dee’s parish for many years, celebrated by Rt. Rev. Arthur Rushlow on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM and will be followed by interment at Good Shephard Cemetery in Ocala, FL. (Catholic Garden)
