Dorothy (Dottie) Heater

Ocala – Dottie Heater (Laubner), of Ocala, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2018.

On March 24, 1934, in San Diego, California, Dottie was born to Almon and Ruth Harlow.  Shortly after graduating from Helix High School in San Diego, she fell in love and married a Navy Seabee, Adrian Gries with whom she had three daughters, Sandra Harris (Gries), Michelle Gries, and Virginia Belker (Gries).  Although their marriage ended in divorce more than 20 years later, they forever cared about each other.

In 1980, Dottie married Gerald (Jerry) Heater and they both found the Lord together.  Gerald passed away in 2006.

After Jerry passed away, she married Gerhard (Gary) Laubner. Dottie adored his kind and quiet spirit.  Gary was energized by her love of the Lord and her abounding energy.

For those who knew her, she had a small frame and the energy of a hummingbird.  It was hard to keep up with that bundle of joyful energy.  She prayed incessantly for each person in her life, with the goal of bringing each person to the Lord she so revered.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Almon and Ruth Harlow, and her brother Frederick Harlow.

She is survived by her husband, Gerhard Laubner; daughters Sandra Harris (Gries), Michelle Gries, and Virginia Belker (Gries); her brother Almon Harlow; grandchildren, Marie Harris (Twomey), Philip Harris, Ashley Belker, and Brittany Belker (Perbera); four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews she loved dearly.

Arrangements were entrusted with Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place Chapel, East Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, Florida.
