“TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY AND TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD” 2 Corinthians 5: 8
Dorothy “Dottie” Warren Hopkins made her heavenly flight on December 22, 2022, from the Hospice Center in Edgewater, Florida.
Born November 29, 1926 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Lovic and Sadie Belle Neal Warren. She was the youngest of four children.
She is survived by her children Alicia (Glendon) Davisson of West Virginia, Mark (Betty Ann) Hopkins of Georgia , daughter-in-law Sandy Hopkins and Amy (Cecil) Goodrich of NSB, FL. who loved and cared for her in their home for 19 years, nine grandchildren, Troy Oxford of S.C., Shannon Porter, Brian Oxford, Adam Hopkins, Heather Hopkins, Elizabeth Thackston, Emily Johnson all of Georgia and Zack and Jenny Goodrich of Florida and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Warren Lee Hopkins, Sr., brothers Virgil P. and Lovic C. Warren, sister Frances Virginia Eidson, son Warren Lee Hopkins, Jr., his daughter-in-law, Sarah Miller Hopkins, and granddaughter Keri Hopkins.
She loved to read, crochet, do counted cross stitch, cook and hand-pieced quilts for all her grandchildren.
She was a born-again Christian and attended the Edgewater Union Church.
She also leaves behind friendships spanning a lifetime.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to Edgewater Union Church
