Dorothy Lee Harper (Gore), known to many as "Dottie", went to be with her Father in Heaven on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Dorothy had been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and had been fighting her disease for many years. She was happily married to Edward Harper for 58 years where they resided together in Chiefland, Florida. Dorothy had two children, Cheryl Ann Bennett of Ponte Vedra, FL and Keith Alan Harper of Sorrento, FL. Dorothy was a Christian woman raised in the Chiefland Church of Christ. Dorothy was a kind soul, always soft spoken and willing to help anyone in need. She was a very giving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Dorothy enjoyed being a Mary Kay Consultant, selling the cosmetic line and making people beautiful like the flowers and plants she grew at their home in Chiefland. Dorothy is preceded in death by her Father, Ira Cleveland Gore, and Sisters, Margie Lee and Willie Ray. Dorothy is survived by her Husband, Edward Maxwell Harper, her Mother, Sleatha Jane Gore, Brothers: Edward, Ira, Wesley and Clifford Gore, Sisters: Betty Sue McElroy, Audrey Parrish and Linda Gore. Dorothy has 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dorothy has requested that in lieu of flowers, that donations be given in her memory to Haven Hospice at 311 N.E. 9th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626.
