Obituary

Douglas Wayne Taff, 62, died on Friday January 8, 2021 due to Cancer which became untreatable as a result of a stroke he suffered on November 21, 2020. He was born in Ogdensburg, New York on April 21, 1958 to Thelma Lewyn Montroy and Walter Henry Lago.

He was raised in California and lived in Florida for several years. He recently went back to college and graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Business with a specialization in Project Management at Capella University. He was living in Tucson, Arizona where he worked at the University of Arizona doing what he loved and making life-long friends who became family. He was the kind of man who touched your heart even if you met him for a moment. He was always up for a new adventure and had the best outlook on life. “I can do all things through Christ who Strengthens me. Philippians 4:13” bible verse he lived by every day. “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game”. Words he use to say to his granddaughters to keep them from never giving up on their dreams……

Surviving are: his daughters, Dawn Marie Moriarty of Deltona, FL and Deanna Lynn Taff of Homosassa, FL; his granddaughters, Diana Nichole Gonzalez of Thomasville, GA, April Marie Farnham of Orange City, FL, and Elizabeth Rose Kennedy of Sanford, FL; great-granddaughter, RaeLynn Paige Farnham of Orange City, FL; his father, Walter Henry Lago of Napa, CA; his brother, Steven Walter Lago of Port Charlotte, FL; his sister, Ellen Lago Clark of Summerfield, FL ; his brother, Ken Lago of Cristfield, MD.

You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you cant see him
Or you can be full of the love that you share

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love each other, and go on……
