Obituary
Dovie Woodard, 80, of Zellwood Fl, passed away on July 25th, 2018. Dovie was born in Banner Elk North Carolina to Jasper and Flora Presnell. On April 2oth 1938, where she lived until 1971. Some of Dovie’s most precious things she held dear to her heart was first and foremost her Faith and her Love for the Lord. She held her Family and church family close to her heart. Dovie had two special chihuahuas (Tiny and Tippy) she wouldn’t trade for anything. She loved to fish in her earlier years. Dovie could make some mean Chocolate gravy and chicken and dumplings! When asked what some of her favorite saying were, her children remembered the words, “that’s just nasty!” with a giggle. Also, she would say “kids these days are just so picky. They need to eat what’s put before them”. Her son, Ricky, said he would ask her, “What about shrimp or clams?” Dovie would say, ‘’I’m not eating that stuff!’’ One of her funny, little habits was she would call and call her children until they would answer their phones, all this would happen before 8 or 9 am.
Dovie lived a life of a prim lady, but also as someone with the passionate convictions of a hard-working woman. Her love and selfless acts have helped and touched so many people in her 80 years. It goes without saying she will forever be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Sorrento Christian Center with Pastor Earl Wright of Sorrento Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery shortly thereafter. Arrangements are by Baldwin Brothers.
