Obituary

Edith “Edie” Eileen Fowler, 78, of N. Fort Myers, FL died on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Hope Healthcare Hospice in Cape Coral, FL.  She was born on July 17, 1942 to the late Clayton and Margaret (Benning) Seth of Laughery Valley, Ohio County, Indiana. She graduated from Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun, IN in 1960.

On September 9, 1961 in Aurora, IN she married Ronald L. Fowler of Lawrenceburg, IN.  They shared 59 years together.

Edie’s family was always the center of her life. Her baking won numerous awards in 4H and went on to win several awards in the Indiana State Fair.  Edie’s love of the water and swimming was fulfilled when Edie and Ronald moved to Florida in 1992. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and singing.  Edie was very active in church choir.

She is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Roberta and Earl Rutenkroger; granddaughter, Andrea Fowler and nephew, Todd Seth.

Edith is survived by her husband, Ronald L. Fowler.  She is also survived by three sons, Douglas L. Fowler of Florida, David R. Fowler and his wife Katie of Virginia, Christopher M. Fowler and his spouse Jerome Samson of Florida; three grandchildren, Brittany Fowler of Florida, Cheyenne Fowler of Virginia, Zachary Fowler and his fiancé Kristen Eppard; and three great grandchildren, Paige and Jase Mackison of Virginia and Anthony “JuJu” Carrol, Jr. of Florida; and two brothers, Clayton Seth and his wife Barbara of Wisconsin and Larry Seth and his wife Starla of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jeanne Autterson of Florida.

A private memorial service will be held at Veterans Memorial Gardens, Sarasota, FL on Friday, March 19, 2021.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Edith’s name to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, www.hopehcs.org.
