Mr. Knopp was the best teacher I had at Ida K thru 12! I first had him in 7th grade study hall & again in 8th grade study Hall. He told me sign up for art in high school. I said what?? I can't draw a stick man! He said I'll help you! He did what he said and he helped me all the way to a 1st place art piece at the State of Michigan Fair. I'm still a horrible artist but Mr. Knopp molded me into someone that helped me have a positive outlook on life and helped my self confidence more than ever!! How he touched my life still has an impact in 2019 and I graduated in 1992. God bless you Mr. Knopp.

Ed, you were a great colleague and a fine artist. When I worked at Ida H.S., everyone, especially the students, always had good things to say about you. You will be missed.
    Blessings to Ed’s family.

Ed I hope you were looking down at your Celebration of Life and seeing all the people who loved you. All of your friends were telling stories about your top-notch pool playing, re-telling your favorite jokes, and talking about what a loving and giving person you were. I will miss not seeing you and talking with you everyday. You were the best friend. Gary and Sharon Stopa

Ed was a great art instructor. He gave me the room that I needed to do what I wanted to do and still kept me on track. He was the cool teacher, he would come out of the supply closet with smoke coming out of his mouth and always talked about playing pool. I ran in to him later at a book store and he was out with a lady friend and it made me happy that I was able to see him again. I rarely run into anybody, teachers or friends, from days gone by. Chalk up the cue Ed!!!

Mr Knopp, You will be truly missed. One of my favorite teachers from Ida. I learned a lot in art class and I passed on what I learned about "mold the forms of light and dark" to my boys when they started drawing. Also let's not forget the jokes. :) God Bless.
