Edward H. Maynes, age 78, of Port Orange, Florida died on Tuesday March 4, 2014. Former Post Commander of New Smyrna Beach VFW Post # 4250. Most of his friends knew him as "Freebird". Preceded in death by his son, Rodric Maynes. Survivors include: Children, Renee Maynes, Maria Maynes White, Nicholas M. Maynes, Tracy Hannum, and last but not least of the children, his "adopted son" and best friend of Roderic,David Markie; grandchildren, 10. Memorial TBA by family at a future time.
