Obituary

Edward Lawrence Riordan age 97yrs, born in Yonkers, New York; formerly of Albuquerque New Mexico passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2022, surrounded by family at his home in Edgewater, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years Margaret (Peggy) Riordan; sons, George Riordan and wife Sue of Cape Coral, Florida, Guy Riordan and wife Frances of Marco Island, Florida, Glenn Riordan of Edgewater, Florida and Greg Riordan and wife Debbie of Edgewater Florida. Also surviving are Grandsons, Andrew (Drew) Riordan, Sean Riordan and RJ Gleason; Granddaughters, Sandy Preasmyer, Mandy Alvarez, Angie Cho, Lyndsey Riordan, Lauren Frazier and eleven Great Grandchildren.
Edward enlisted in the Army in 1943 during World War II at age of 18 and served in the South Pacific, New Guinea and the Philippines. After the war he left the Army and joined the United States Air Force and retired Honorably in 1966. After his retirement from the Air Force, he returned to school and earned his Master’s Degree. He went on to work for the City of Albuquerque, ultimately becoming the Court Administrator for the City of Albuquerque. He also developed and instructed Albuquerque’s DWI schools.
A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach, FL at 10:30 am September 13, 2022 with entombment of cremated remains to follow at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 12:30 pm.

    He was such an awesome uncle, and a very nice and kind man. I loved visiting my Aunt Peggy and Uncle Ed through the years. Thanks for your military service!! I’ll miss you.
